ECG (electrocardiogram) in Quezon City: price, preparation and what to expect
What the ECG checks
An ECG (electrocardiogram) records the electrical activity of your heart through small sticky pads placed on your chest, arms and legs. It shows your heart rate and rhythm and can show signs of an irregular heartbeat, strain on the heart or reduced blood flow to the heart muscle. It is painless and uses no radiation. Our ECG is a 12-lead resting ECG, which is also part of our Classic health package and above.
Who usually needs it
- Pre-employment and annual physical exams that ask for an ECG
- Chest pain, palpitations, dizziness or shortness of breath, when your doctor requests it
- High blood pressure, diabetes or a known heart condition
- Before surgery or certain medicines, when your doctor requests it
How to prepare
Don't put lotion, oil or powder on your chest. Wear a two-piece outfit. Rest for a few minutes before the test. Keep taking your usual medicines unless your doctor says otherwise. Bring a valid ID, your HMO card and LOA if you're using an HMO, and your doctor's request if you have one.
