How to prepare
Depends on the scan. Abdomen scans: fast for 6 to 8 hours. Pelvic, kidney, bladder and prostate scans through the belly: drink 4 to 6 glasses of water about 1 hour before and hold your urine. Transvaginal scans: empty your bladder just before. Breast, thyroid and neck scans: no preparation. Keep taking your usual medicines unless your doctor says otherwise. Bring a valid ID, your HMO card and LOA if you're using an HMO, and your doctor's request if you have one.
Price and payment
Ultrasound prices start at ₱2,700; see the table above for common scans. Prices are regular rates as of August 2026 and already include reading and procedure fees. Senior citizens and PWD get 20% off plus VAT exemption with a valid ID. We accept cash, card, GCash, Maya, 9 HMOs and PhilHealth YAKAP.
Using an HMO? Coverage depends on your plan, and some HMOs need a doctor's request and a Letter of Authorization (LOA); our front desk can help you get it. PhilHealth YAKAP covers eligible tests and the general medicine consult at our clinic.
Home service
PinMed, our home service, can do this at your home or office in Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite and Laguna. The home service fee depends on the distance from our clinic and your tests, and is calculated when you enter your address; lab-only orders of ₱3,000 or more are free within 10 km.

Frequently asked questions
- Which ultrasound do I need?
- Your doctor's request names the scan. If you don't have a request, ask us or book a consult first so the right scan is done.
- Is ultrasound safe?
- Yes. Ultrasound uses sound waves, not radiation, and is used in pregnancy.
- Can I get an ultrasound at home?
- Yes. PinMed can bring mobile ultrasound to your home or office. The home service fee depends on your area.
- Is the whole abdomen ultrasound the same as the upper abdomen?
- No. The upper abdomen scan covers the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen and kidneys. The whole abdomen scan adds the urinary bladder, and can include the prostate or pelvic organs.
