CBC (Complete Blood Count) in Quezon City: price, preparation and what to expect
What the CBC test checks
A CBC measures your red blood cells, hemoglobin and hematocrit, your white blood cells (with a breakdown of each type) and your platelets. Doctors use it to check for anemia, infection, inflammation and bleeding or clotting problems, and to monitor platelets during dengue.
Who usually needs it
- Yearly check-ups and pre-employment exams
- Fever, fatigue, paleness or easy bruising, when your doctor requests it
- Monitoring during dengue or other infections
- Before a procedure or surgery

Frequently asked questions
- Do I need to fast for a CBC?
- No. You can eat and drink as usual, unless the same visit includes a fasting test such as FBS or a lipid profile.
- Can a CBC tell if I have dengue?
- A CBC shows the platelet and white blood cell changes doctors watch during dengue, but it doesn't confirm dengue on its own. Your doctor may also request a dengue test such as NS1 or antibodies, which is part of our Dengue Screening Panel.
- Can I get a CBC at home?
- Yes. PinMed, our home service, collects blood at your home or office in Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite and Laguna.
